There are a lot of rules for Senators during the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump which began on Tuesday. While coffee and other non-water drinks are always banned from the Senate floor, during the impeachment trial senators can have one other beverage aside from water—milk.
According to This Week, this rule was added in 1966 when a Senator Everett Dirksen wanted to have a "tall glass of milk" for lunch.
While no senators have poured a cold glass during this first day of impeachment, it’s still possible. Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Patrick Leahy (D-VT) are known to have shared milk on special occasions for decades, This Week reports.
We've got just one question: Does chocolate milk count?
