Consumers really like beef – and they’re willing to pay for it

So Expensive
Because of my discussion about consumers and beef prices just several days earlier, a post on LinkedIn particularly caught my attention. The first paragraph reads like this: “Beef prices keep breaking records…what's driving it? That's the question behind Business Insider’s new So Expensive documentary, which I [Dr. David Ortega] had the opportunity to contribute to.”
On the surface, it all seems neutral enough. But if you watch the Business Insider video, you’ll soon find it’s anything BUT objective and/or informational. For instance, it features the recent press conference highlighted in my columns, Packers, Politics, and Theater and ‘Help’ with beef inflation? Thanks, but no thanks. That is, the documentary is yet another stab at politicizing beef prices.
