Easter Bunny Delivers Slightly Higher Milk Prices


As we look forward to spring and come out of the Easter weekend, we see a bounce back in our CME spot trade. Almost all 5 products had green on the board, moving slightly higher. Cheddar Blocks faomed 2 cents tp $1.43 3/4, and Cheddar barrels gained ¾ of a cent to $1.43 1/2/lb. Butter also gained ¾ of a cent to $2.85/lb. Grade A Non Fat Dry milk was unchanged at $1.12/lb and Dry whey gained a quarter of a cent to $0.40 1/2/lb.


Class III milk was down slightly with April down 2 cents to $15.54, May down 10 to $15.86/cwt and June down 4 cents to $16.60/cwt. The second half of 2024 trading 2 higher to 20 cents lower on low volume.


Class IV milk finsished with slight gains. April was up 9 cents to $19.89, May up 4 to $19.89, and June up 12 cents to $20.12/cwt. The balance of 2024 all trading over $20/cwt.
