Dairy product prices were a mixed bag today on the New Zealand Global Dairy Trade (GDT) auction today, with cheese and whole milk powder (WMP) gaining ground but butter and skim milk powder (SMP) declining.
In the aggregate, the market was off 0.7 percent on a modest trading day with just under 24,000 metric tons changing hands.
Butter declined 4.9 percent to $1.60/lb. SMP was off 0.5 percent to $1.22/lb. Cheddar cheese was up 0.6 percent to $1.73/lb. WMP also gained 0.6 percent to $1.46/lb.
