The Global Dairy Trade index had its biggest decline so far this year, falling 4.1% in Tuesday’s trading session.
Significant gains in butter milk powder and lactose prices were offset by losses in every other category, with whole milk powder taking the biggest loss of 5.1%.
On Tuesday, 110 winning bidders purchased 25,705 metric tons of dairy products in 22 rounds of bidding, in just under three hours.
