Hot market: Don't run with scissors

Most of us make it through the fourth of July with all our digits still attached. We respect fireworks and the physical damage they can cause, so we exercise caution. This week the market had some fireworks left to set off and a comment I overheard showed no respect or caution. “This market is so good we can run with knives and scissors and not worry about it.”
Market Euphoria Dangers
Other conversations I have are very different. People ask me how much higher I think it will go. I confess if I were to have answered that question in March, I would’ve never guessed it would be where it is now. How much higher will it go? None of us know. The thing is some of us remember the cow that stole Christmas, 2008, 2015, and the Covid shutdown so we certainly won’t be running with scissors.
