I have never heard the crowd get so loud after the auctioneer said “sold” as I did this week. Right before that he pleaded with a bidder to do it just so they could say they did it. These older pairs became the bell ringers of the sale fetching $5,000!

The myth of depreciation

Many in the education space preach about depreciation of older cows and deflecting it. That is delusional since the female market has not been following suit to what is talked about. If a producer subscribes to that busted theory, they wouldn’t have these over-valued pairs in inventory to cash in on at the present time. That would lead to a huge opportunity blown by subscribing to theory. This is one of those moments where legit sell/buy marketing shines since it is a real time cash flow reckoning.

I have written about this repeatedly, what we focus on is what we will bring about. If a producer focuses on deflecting depreciation due to how many trips a cow has taken around the sun they will miss out on prosperous opportunities. If the producer focuses on cash flow and profit, that is what they will create. The older pairs could easily be replaced with much younger pairs, or breds, generating cash flow and profit.
