Genetic progress marches on

New names have reached new heights with the release of the August 2026 evaluations, and the Hoard’s Dairyman Bull List with all the top sires is now available.

Cresting the 1300 level — appropriately named in a year of celebrating the country’s birthday —is a new number one genomic Net Merit (NM$) sire, Genosource Patriot 76-ET, topping the list at 1311 NM$. He also fought his way to number two in Cheese Merit (CM$) at 1333 CM$, just behind Aurora GS Woodford-ET topping the list at 1349 CM$. Woodford fell just behind Patriot 76 on the NM$ rankings, coming in at 1299 NM$. Woodford took the number one spot of the genomic Total Performance Index (TPI) ranking, at +3622 TPI, eclipsing April’s highest TPI rankings by nearly 60 points.

On the daughter-proven side, Clear-Echo Rix Rimbot-ET moved into the number one position on the NM$ and CM$ lists at 1156 NM$ and 1161 CM$, respectively. In the top TPI rankings, Peak Powerhouse-ET holds the number one seat, at +3561 TPI. Powerhouse bumped April’s number one ranking bull, OCD Trooper Sheepster-ET, who fell to number two at +3547 TPI.
