Dairy Farmers Get $16 Million Boost in House Bill


A bipartisan group of lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives introduced a bill that would invest $16 million per year in dairy businesses. The Dairy Business Innovation Act, introduced by Reps. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) and Cindy Axne (D-IA), would provide grants and technical assistance to dairy farmers and businesses to help them innovate, modernize, and diversify.


The bill is supported by several dairy organizations, including the National Milk Producers Federation, the American Dairy Association, and the Wisconsin Dairy Alliance. The organizations say the bill would help dairy farmers and businesses to compete in the global marketplace and ensure that dairy products are available to consumers for years to come.
